Release week goes fast. The song is out, the clips are going up, and it is easy to lose track of what matters. A short checklist keeps the week calm and keeps the attention pointed at the song.
Before the drop
Most of the work is done before release day. Do these while there is still time to fix things.
- Confirm the official sound is live and the title and artist name are spelled the way you want.
- Pick the one or two moments in the song you want people to hear first, and cut the opening clips around them.
- Write down what a good week looks like, so you are not guessing later.
- Line up several different edits, not one video posted over and over.
Release day
Post the first round early in the day and use the official sound on every clip. Give each edit a different hook, so you can tell which one people respond to. Do not worry about perfect timing. Steady posting beats one big moment.
Days two to four
This is when the first signals show up. Watch which hooks hold viewers past the first few seconds, and which clips get saved or shared. Make more of the edits that work and let the rest go. A small change to a winning hook is usually better than a brand new idea.
The rest of the week
Keep the posting rhythm going. Check the sound page to see whether other accounts are starting to use the song on their own. That is a good sign, because it means the song is spreading beyond the clips you made.
What to review on day seven
- Which edits and hooks drove the most saves and shares.
- Whether the official sound page is growing from accounts you do not run.
- What you would change in week two.
One week is a first read, not a verdict. Most songs need more than a week to find their audience, so plan the next stretch before the first one ends.
At Frequency we run release weeks from owned, in-house accounts, so every edit and every result traces back to a plan. If you want to see how that works for your record, see how the platform works.
